Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an experienced Executive Legal Secretary to support attorneys in a Bankruptcy Section. This role requires a proactive professional with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. This opportunity is full-time, direct hire, and allows for one day of remote work following a 90-day introductory period.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft legal documents including briefs, motions, subpoenas, and discovery materials using firm templates
- Format and e-file documents in bankruptcy courts via PACER
- Maintain case information and deadlines using Court Alert
- Prepare binders, exhibits, and coordinate delivery to courthouses
- Run conflict checks and assist with new client/matter setup
- Organize and manage documents within the firm’s document management system
- Proofread legal documents for grammar, punctuation, and formatting
- Manage attorney calendars and coordinate meetings and conferences
- Assist with billing, time entry, and expense reporting
- Provide excellent client service and maintain confidentiality
- Handle travel arrangements and manage incoming/outgoing mail
- Support attorneys with materials for publications and speaking engagements
- Provide backup support and assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of bankruptcy legal support experience, preferably in a mid-to-large law firm
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, NetDocs, Carpe Diem, and Chrome River
- Experience with PACER and knowledge of local and federal bankruptcy procedures
- Advanced document formatting skills (styles, tables, TOC, TOA, redlining, etc.)
- Strong proofreading, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and handle high-volume workloads
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
