Job Title: Systems Engineer
Other Acceptable Titles: IT Systems Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Systems Engineer, Linux Engineer/Linux Systems Engineer, Windows System Engineer/Administrator
Location: Remote (Quarterly onsite if local, not a hard requirement)
Schedule: Standard Business Hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM); On-call rotation every 7-8 weeks after probationary period
Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $73K-$128K
About the Role
We are seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer with strong Windows expertise and some exposure to cloud platforms. This role is ideal for someone who is not too junior but also not yet at a senior level-someone eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges. The position emphasizes infrastructure engineering, cloud systems, and automation, with a primary focus on Windows environments.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement infrastructure solutions that align with organizational policies, industry best practices, and customer needs.

Install, configure, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, and infrastructure applications.

Provide administration and troubleshooting for Windows-based environments; Linux exposure is a plus but not required.

Manage and support cloud environments, primarily Azure (AWS exposure is also valuable).

Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.

Perform database management with a preference for SQL; exposure to Databricks is highly desirable.

Monitor systems, perform upgrades, and ensure security, stability, and performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project design, implementation, and testing.

Deliver excellent customer-facing support and communication.

Participate in an on-call rotation post-probation.
Must-Have Skills

Strong Windows-focused infrastructure experience

Hands-on experience with Azure (AWS exposure a plus)

Proficiency in SQL

Experience with automation/scripting tools (PowerShell, Python, or Ansible)

Strong communication and customer interaction skills
Nice-to-Have Skills

Exposure to Linux-based environments

Experience with Databricks (preferred)

Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (a plus, but not required)

Familiarity with Hyper-V (not required, but VMware experience is not needed as there’s a shift away from it)
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience as permitted by standard equivalency formulas)

5+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or infrastructure management

Ability to balance independent work with team collaboration
