A national law firm seeks a Construction Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Orlando, FL.
This position will collect, analyze, organize, and maintain factual |
information and documents, both electronic and hard copies, in |
accordance with correct legal practice and procedure. Will draft legal |
documents, including motions, affidavits, and discovery. Will research and |
analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other |
legal sources; provide written analysis to attorneys. Will perform all |
aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery |
requests and subpoenas; and compiling and organizing coding/indexing |
documents. Will prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which |
may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items. |
Will Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending |
trials, hearings, depositions, and mediations. On a case-specific basis, will |
oversee the organization and maintenance of the case file and case |
management spreadsheet and delegate to and oversee the tasks of |
department assistants and/or file clerks, as needed. |
Paralegal Certificate/Degree OR ten years of litigation paralegal experience. |
In-depth knowledge of Florida and U.S. District Court laws, court procedures, |
and electronic discovery. |
Experience with all stages of litigation, including intake, discovery, and trial. |
Experience coordinating trial/arbitration logistics, including negotiating for |
workspace, setting-up remote office space, and coordinating with clients and |
vendors. |
Experience maintaining processes to collect, store, and maintain paper and |
electronic case files. |
Experience with court and administrative agency filings, including electronic or e- |
filings. |
Experience using e-discovery databases and litigation support software for |
document production, witness files, and deposition transcripts and exhibits. |
Construction litigation experience is preferred. |
