A national law firm is seeking a Construction Litigation Legal Assistant for their Orlando office.
Summary:
- Assist attorneys and paralegals through the performance of complex administrative and clerical duties
- Process new matters and conflict requests and perform conflict maintenance on existing matters, as required
- Review and process all incoming or outgoing mail
- Ensure attorney time is correctly entered by the deadline and perform month-end billing processes
- Gather client accounting information and generate accounting reports available through accounting software; ensure timely payment of vendor invoice
- Maintain Florida Bar requirements (CLEs, Board Cert. Applications and Renewals, and Court Admissions)
- Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings in coordination with the case team, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, court reporters, judicial
assistants, and/or mediators.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and the legal process
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
- 5 years exp. In law firm or corporate legal dept environment
- Experience with complex calendaring in Outlook
- Good understanding of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
- Construction Litigation experience is preferred but not required.
