HR Generalist – Benefits, Onboarding & Employee Rewards
Location: Plymouth, MN
Contract-to-Hire | Full-Time Onsite
Overview:
Beacon Hill is seeking an HR Generalist – Benefits, Onboarding & Employee Rewards on behalf of our client in Plymouth, MN. This role is responsible for managing onboarding, benefits enrollment, and employee rewards programs while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely processing. The position supervises at least one direct report, provides leadership and guidance, and partners closely with the Sr. Director of HR on initiatives, compliance, and process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to delivering excellent service to employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership

Recruit, train, and manage direct report(s), providing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.

Oversee daily workflows, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Partner with Sr. Director of HR on employment and disciplinary actions.

Provide support and development opportunities for team members.
Benefits Administration
-
Manage annual benefits enrollment, including documentation, system setup, auditing, and employee communication.

Process benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and dependent verifications.

Partner with carriers to resolve issues and ensure accurate data entry.

Support 401k audit preparation and other compliance activities.
Onboarding
-
Oversee onboarding to ensure a timely, compliant, and welcoming experience for new hires.

Process new hire paperwork, verify accuracy, and maintain records in HRIS (UKG).

Support E-Verify, job code setup, and onboarding system updates.

Maintain onboarding policies, procedures, and training resources.
Employee Programs & Communication

Oversee the employee clothing and gift portal, including audits, ordering, and invoice review.

Coordinate engagement surveys, compile results, and support follow-up actions.

Prepare and distribute HR communications, policy changes, and intranet content.

Coordinate approved employee gifts and beneficiary documentation as needed.
Compliance & Process Improvement

Serve as HRIS system administrator for assigned areas.

Audit employee records, ensuring compliance with retention and disposal policies.

Stay current on legislation and partner with HR leadership on implementation.

Manage GovDocs postings, audits, and communication.
-
Develop metrics and reporting for areas of responsibility.

Ensure adherence to employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of HR experience, or equivalent education/experience.

Strong knowledge of employee benefits and onboarding processes.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with UKG Pro and Adobe Pro preferred.

Experience working in multi-state environments.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
