Senior Accountant – Construction Company

Location: Allentown, NJ
Schedule: Fully onsite
Employment Type: Contract to hire
Compensation: $85,000-$100,000

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and variance reports
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of accounting transactions
• Support job costing and project accounting activities
• Review project budgets, costs, and profitability
• Assist with WIP schedules and revenue recognition
• Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit cards, job-related accounts)
• Partner with project managers on financial tracking and reporting
• Support audits and provide required documentation
• Identify and implement process improvements

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Construction industry experience preferred, not required
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
• Experience with job costing or project-based accounting is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Proficient in Excel and accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
