Job Title: HR Generalist
Location: Bloomington, MN
Schedule: Hybrid – Onsite for training (1-2 months), then 2 days/week remote
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Salary: $75,000-$80,000

About the Role:
Beacon Hill is partnering with a client in Bloomington, MN to hire a flexible, people-focused HR Generalist to join a small but mighty HR team supporting a dynamic and growing organization. You’ll work alongside a seasoned HR professional to support six distinct business units and up to 1,000 employees nationwide. With offices across the country and a variety of inherited processes from acquisitions, adaptability and a collaborative mindset are key.
This role is based in the Bloomington office and offers a hybrid schedule after initial training. You’ll be a central point of contact for onboarding, offboarding, intern coordination, HR systems support, and employee engagement initiatives, helping to unify processes across business units while maintaining excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboarding Coordination
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to ensure a smooth onboarding experience
- Facilitate weekly new hire orientations
- Create and manage first-week schedules for new hires
- Ensure completion of new hire documentation and compliance requirements
- Offboarding
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends for continuous improvement
- Coordinate final pay and benefits communication
- Maintain accurate termination records and ensure compliance with offboarding procedures
- HR Systems & Data
- Maintain and update HRIS records (UKG experience preferred)
- Review biweekly payroll reports for accuracy (no payroll processing required)
- Assist with HR reporting and data analysis for leadership
- Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns
- Support resolution of employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion
- Assist in policy interpretation and enforcement
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintain personnel files and documentation in accordance with company policies
- Internship Program Support
- Coordinate logistics for interns across business units
- Collaborate with hiring managers and mentors to support intern success
- Assist with onboarding, scheduling, and engagement activities for interns
- Career Fair & Event Planning
- Partner with Programs team and office leaders to organize career fairs and recruiting events
- Coordinate logistics, materials, and staffing for events
- Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize HR processes across business units
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Support change management efforts related to HR programs and systems
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of HR experience
- Multistate HR experience preferred
- Experience in engineering, consulting, or professional services a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable with Microsoft Teams and remote collaboration tools
- Must have a reliable work-from-home setup with camera-on availability for meetings
- Ability to maintain professional HR boundaries and handle sensitive matters with discretion
