We are seeking a Data Analyst for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role involves working with large, complex datasets to clean, transform, and load data into internal systems while ensuring accuracy and integrity. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills for querying and data manipulation, proficiency in Python for scripting and automation, and experience with reporting tools such as SSRS, Tableau, or Power BI to create dashboards and automated reports. Responsibilities include developing scripts to streamline workflows, identifying outliers, and applying best practices for handling sensitive information. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, managing projects, and collaborating through GitHub for version control. A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in data analysis or a Master’s degree with at least one year of relevant experience is required. Familiarity with MySQL, ETL concepts, and exposure to research or scientific data environments are a plus.
- 2+ years of professional experience in data analysis OR a Master’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Strong SQL skills focused on pulling, querying, and loading data (not database creation); experience with SQL Server preferred.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, data cleaning, transformation, and automation of workflows.
- Hands-on experience with reporting and visualization tools such as SSRS, Tableau, or Power BI to create dashboards and automated reports.
- Ability to clean and transform large, messy datasets, identify outliers, and ensure data integrity for accurate analysis.
- Experience using GitHub
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
