Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an IP Litigation Paralegal for a hybrid, temporary to permanent role with our client in Dallas. This is a full-time position during standard business hours.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, file, and manage pleadings, motions, and other documents in federal district courts across the country.
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, including case management, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Coordinate and maintain case files, deadlines, and document databases.
- Prepare exhibits, trial binders, and materials for hearings, depositions, and trials.
- Manage docketing and ensure timely filings in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.
- Support non-district court intellectual property matters, including preparation and filing of documents with the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Manage and assist with e-discovery processes, including data collection, review, and production.
- Utilize e-discovery platforms such as Everlaw, DISCO, Relativity, or comparable systems to organize, analyze, and produce electronically stored information (ESI).
- Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys in Texas and California as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience filing in federal district court. Strong working knowledge of federal and local court rules and electronic filing systems (PACER, CM/ECF).
- E-discovery experience, including proficiency with platforms such as Everlaw, DISCO, or Relativity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and relevant case management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys and staff across multiple offices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in patent litigation, including familiarity with PTAB proceedings and patent filings.
- Federal court trial experience strongly preferred.
- Experience filing in Texas and/or California state courts is a significant plus.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Paralegal certificate or degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of paralegal experience in litigation, with preference given to candidates with significant federal court experience and/or patent litigation experience.
