Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily accounting function, supervise staff, manage month‑end close, support cost and inventory accounting, and ensure accurate financial reporting. This is a highly operational role with regular collaboration between accounting, supply chain, and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow)
• Manage inventory and cost accounting, including cycle counts, variance analysis, production reporting, and standard cost updates
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling
• Ensure accuracy of job costing, overhead allocation, and labor reporting
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain on cost drivers, inventory movement, production issues, and margin analysis
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance measures
• Assist with audit preparation and year‑end reporting
• Supervise and develop 1-3 accounting/finance team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-8+ years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Strong GAAP knowledge and month‑end close expertise
• Experience with inventory accounting, costing, BOMs, and manufacturing workflows
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling)
• Experience with modern ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Infor, Epicor, etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operations teams
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable in a fast‑paced, hands‑on role

Compensation & Schedule

• $100,000-$125,000 base (depending on depth of cost/manufacturing experience)
• Contract‑to‑Hire with strong potential to convert
• On‑site in Warren, NJ (standard manufacturing headquarters environment)
• Full‑time, Monday-Friday
