Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Controller to manage accounting and financial operations for a privately held industrial organization. This role is ideal for someone with strong cost accounting and inventory experience who enjoys working in a small, collaborative office environment. The position is contract-to-hire with long-term potential.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee month-end and year-end close using Sage MAS 100
Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations
Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Manage inventory valuation, COGS, and cost variance analysis
Oversee billing, accounts receivable, and collections
Supervise accounts payable, cash flow, and bank reconciliations
Oversee payroll, benefits accounting, and compliance
Build budgets, forecasts, and perform variance analysis
Serve as Sage MAS 100 system lead and maintain internal controls
Lead and mentor accounting staff and support leadership initiatives
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive accounting experience
Manufacturing, mining, or industrial accounting background
Hands-on Sage MAS 100 / Sage 100 experience
Strong inventory and cost accounting skills
Advanced Excel skills
CPA preferred but not required
