Beacon Hill is a proud partner to a reputable Medical organization in Chicago. We are currently hiring a Payroll Specialist.
Responsibilities/Duties
The responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist are, but are not limited to:
Oversee and process multi-state payroll across multiple pay schedules in Workday, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with HRIS implementation teams on system configuration, testing, integrations, and ongoing enhancements.
Administer vacation and sick time accruals, ensuring time-off requests are accurately captured and aligned with payroll cycles.
Process garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Complete employment verifications and partner with HR Business Partners on employee record requests, subpoenas, and related documentation.
Maintain data integrity by managing new hires, terminations, and employee changes within payroll and HRIS systems.
Support health, ancillary, and retirement benefit programs, including enrollments, terminations, and payroll deductions.
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and compliance.
Perform day-to-day payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
Act as a trusted resource for employees by providing timely, high-quality support on payroll and benefits inquiries.
Support monthly benefits reconciliations to ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and employee coverage.
Manage unemployment claims and COBRA processing in a timely and compliant manner.
Prepare, review, and analyze payroll and benefits reports for internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related
- Mulit-state (including California) experience
- 4+ years of Payroll experience
- Strong data entry, written and verbal communication skills
