Property Accountant (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Cleveland, OH (On-site)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (½-hour lunch)
Pay Rate: $32-$35 per hour
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Summary
The Property Accountant is a detail-oriented accounting professional responsible for the financial management of commercial real estate properties. This role supports all aspects of property accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Property Accountant works closely with the accounting team and leadership to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
Perform full-cycle accounting functions for assigned commercial properties
Prepare and post journal entries
Complete monthly and year-end close processes
Reconcile bank accounts and balance cash receipts
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Prepare and review invoices
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
Assist with budgeting and financial analysis
Support audits, tax preparation, and variance resolution
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues
Serve as a point of contact for vendors and external partners
Maintain and enforce financial controls and company policies
Assist with special projects as needed

Yardi Voyager (version 7S or 8 preferred; company currently transitioning to Voyager 8)
Microsoft Excel
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
2+ years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Property or real estate accounting experience
Bookkeeping experience
Prior experience in a management or lead accounting role
Experience with Yardi Voyager
