Our client, an innovative and rapidly expanding aerospace manufacturer in the South Bay, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in cost accounting, BOM analysis, and inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cost accounting processes to support production and financial accuracy.
- Review and analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) and job costing for manufacturing projects.
- Manage and reconcile inventory transactions, including raw materials and finished goods.
- Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for production costs.
- Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimize cost controls and efficiency.
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices across accounting functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Infor Syteline, Coupa).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
- CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
