Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Director
Our client is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Director to lead sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, and contract management across both IT and non-IT spend categories. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role partnering with engineering, finance, and executive leadership to drive cost optimization, manage supplier relationships, and support business growth through strategic procurement initiatives. Strategic sourcing leaders are responsible for developing category strategies, managing vendor relationships, and negotiating complex supplier agreements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
What you’ll be doing:
* Act as the subject matter expert for assigned spend categories, particularly IT categories such as cloud services, SaaS software, third-party data, infrastructure, and services
* Develop and execute category strategies including supplier rationalization, cost optimization, and demand management
* Analyze company spend to identify strategic sourcing opportunities and build a pipeline of sourcing initiatives
* Lead sourcing events including RFPs, RFIs, supplier evaluations, and competitive bidding processes
* Negotiate complex supplier contracts, pricing structures, and service level agreements
* Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance with contracts and performance expectations
* Partner with internal stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to vendor spending
* Support third-party risk management initiatives and ensure alignment with regulatory and internal compliance standards
* Lead change management initiatives tied to supplier transitions or service changes
* Improve procurement and vendor management processes, tools, and best practices

To be considered for this role, you should have:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred)
* 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract negotiation, and category management
* Strong experience with IT procurement categories including cloud services, SaaS, infrastructure, and professional services
* Experience working within financial services, technology, or other regulated industries
* Strong financial acumen with experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and spend analysis
* Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and drive results in a fast-paced environment
