Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 remote)
Compensation: Up to $140,000
Billable Target: 1,500 hours annually
Travel: Trial travel 1-2 times per year
Overview
A prestigious global law firm is seeking a senior litigation paralegal to support complex, high-stakes litigation matters. This role is ideal for a paralegal with strong trial preparation experience, advanced e-filing knowledge, and deep familiarity with court rules and procedures. The position supports attorneys across offices and practice groups in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Organize, review, and manage litigation files (electronic and hard copy)
Handle discovery materials, deposition exhibits, expert and witness files
Track deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
Support trial preparation, including:
Exhibit and witness lists
Trial binders and demonstratives
Coordination of offsite trial war rooms
Draft and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence
Perform proofreading, cite-checking, and Bluebooking
E-file documents in state and federal courts (ECF, PACER NextGen, NYSCEF) and deliver courtesy copies when required
Interface with court clerks, agencies, and vendors for filings and service of process
Prepare affidavits of service and notarize documents as needed
Delegate tasks to junior paralegals and legal assistants
Conduct legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis and Relativity
Stay current on court rules, procedures, and legal technology
Appellate experience is a plus
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
Paralegal certificate preferred (or equivalent law firm experience)
7-10+ years of litigation paralegal experience, ideally in a large law firm
Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules
Hands-on trial experience
Excellent organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Practice Exposure
Complex commercial litigation
Potential exposure to insurance recovery and life sciences matters
