The Legal Technologist partners with the firm’s Finance practice to identify operational pain points, shape practical technology solutions, and drive adoption of legal technology that delivers measurable value. Acting as a bridge between lawyers and technology teams, this role translates real-world legal workflows into executable initiatives and ensures technology investments are effectively implemented and used.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology Innovation, the Advisor works closely with Finance lawyers, Practice Technology, IT, Knowledge Management, and other business teams to support practice-specific transformation efforts.
Responsibilities
Partner with Finance lawyers to understand workflows, identify inefficiencies, and surface opportunities for process improvement and technology enablement.
Translate practitioner feedback into clear problem statements, user stories, and requirements for technology teams.
Support pilots, prototypes, and rollouts of legal technology solutions in collaboration with Practice Technology and IT.
Drive awareness, training, and adoption of technology solutions, using usage data and feedback to measure impact and refine rollout strategies.
Facilitate process improvement and design thinking sessions to support practice transformation initiatives.
Collaborate with Knowledge Management, Legal Risk, Learning & Development, and other teams to ensure solutions are practical, compliant, and scalable.
Monitor legal technology trends and emerging vendors relevant to Finance practices and share insights with leadership.
