Overview
A mid-sized law firm is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a busy litigation practice. This role is ideal for someone with strong document production, e-filing, and administrative litigation support experience who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. While paralegals are welcome to apply, the role is administrative in nature at times.
The position offers a collaborative team environment, predictable hours, and a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, revise, and format pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents
File documents electronically in state, federal, and appellate courts
Maintain pleading and discovery binders and manage incoming and outgoing mail
Manage attorney calendars and assist with meeting litigation deadlines
Communicate with clients, courts, and internal legal teams
Open new matters, prepare conflicts checks, and draft engagement letters
Process monthly billing and enter attorney time
Provide general administrative and litigation support as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a litigation legal assistant or legal administrative assistant
Strong state and federal e-filing experience required
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including redlining, document comparison, advanced formatting, TOCs/TOAs, and hyperlinks
Proficiency with a document management system (iManage preferred)
Comfortable with heavy typing and document production
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Associate’s degree or higher preferred; no degree required
Additional Details
Schedule: Hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 day remote)
Hours: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 base; overtime eligible after 35 hours (candidates may be considered up to $90,000)
