Tax Admin Processing Support
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Zipcode: 55426)
Employment Type: Contract – Now through April 15th
Schedule:
6-7 hours a day within the business day, Monday-Friday
About the Role
We are heading into a busy tax season and are seeking a Tax Admin Processing Support to provide critical support through April 15th. This role will cover workload during peak season.
This position is ideal for someone highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable navigating multiple software platforms in a fast‑paced, heads‑down environment. You’ll play a key role in assembling tax documents, managing electronic files, and supporting electronic tax filing.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, assemble, and prepare tax documents for electronic filing.
- Manage a high volume of Adobe and PDF-based workflow tasks.
- Navigate and use 3-4 different tax-related software systems (training provided).
- Work extensively within Microsoft Outlook to track, route, and manage document flow.
- Scan and convert paper documents into electronic files (approx. 25-30% of workload).
- Ensure documents follow established processes while understanding when exceptions apply.
- Apply judgment and critical thinking in situations where processes differ based on context.
- Maintain accuracy and organization while working independently for long periods of screen time.
Qualifications
- Required: Strong experience with Adobe and PDF tools (editing, assembling, organizing).
- Comfort working across multiple software systems; quick learner with strong technical aptitude.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook for managing complex communication and file routing.
- Ability to sit at a computer for long periods, focusing on detail-heavy tasks.
- Strong judgment, especially in situations with “gray areas” where different processes may apply.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Work Environment
- Primarily computer-based, heads-down work.
- High-volume document processing during peak tax season.
- Structured processes in place, but requires flexibility and situational awareness.
