Legal Secretary (Insurance Litigation & Bad Faith) – Orlando, FL
A boutique law firm is seeking an experienced **Legal Secretary** with a solid background in litigation who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting. **Key Responsibilities**
– Prepare, proofread, and finalize pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
– Manage calendars for multiple attorneys and coordinate depositions, hearings, and meetings.
– Handle e-filing and ensure all court rules and deadlines are met.
– Maintain and organize case files to be ready for trial at any time.
– Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional and personable manner.
– Support attorneys with trial preparation, including arranging travel, scheduling witnesses, and securing court reporters.
– Provide general administrative support that keeps the office running smoothly.
**Qualifications**
– Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal secretary in civil litigation.
– Prior experience in insurance litigation and/or bad faith cases strongly preferred.
– Proficient with both State and Federal court procedures; appellate experience is a plus.
– Skilled in e-filing and knowledgeable about relevant court rules and timelines.
– Exceptional written and verbal communication, grammar, and proofreading skills.
– Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple deadlines with ease.
– Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Adobe, iManage, and Juris (or similar timekeeping software).
– A proactive team player who also works well independently.
