Accounting Assistant

We’re partnering with a well‑established manufacturing company to find an Accounting Assistant who can step in quickly and support day‑to‑day accounting operations. This role requires someone to commute into their Kent, WA office on a full-time basis M-F. This is an immediate, open‑ended temporary opportunity supporting a lean local office while accounting functions continue to be consolidated at the corporate level.

This role is a strong fit for someone with solid transactional accounting experience who enjoys variety in their workday. You’ll collaborate with local leadership and corporate accounting while handling a mix of accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and administrative accounting tasks. The environment is hands‑on and team‑oriented, with room to take initiative and assist where needed.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting month‑end close activities, including account reconciliations and expense analysis
• Coding and coordinating accounts payable invoices, check requests, and expense reports with Corporate Accounts Payable
• Posting inventory cycle counts and auditing inventory adjustments in JD Edwards
• Handling accounts receivable activities such as cash posting, billing, and verifying daily bank deposits
• Preparing and communicating bank deposits for corporate cash application
• Reviewing credit card and expense reports for policy compliance and accurate coding
• Preparing vendor credit applications and submitting banking information for setup
• Assisting with payroll support, HR file coordination, and other administrative tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of accounting experience with exposure to both accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Experience working in an ERP system, with JD Edwards preferred
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, and VLOOKUPs
• Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus
• AA or BA in Accounting preferred, but not required
