Our client is a nationally recognized litigation practice focused on catastrophic injury and commercial vehicle cases. The firm handles complex matters across the country and is seeking an associate attorney to serve in a research‑ and writing‑intensive role supporting senior trial partners.
This is not a courtroom or trial role. Instead, this position is designed for a lawyer who excels at deep factual investigation, sophisticated legal analysis, and producing polished, high‑quality written work with minimal supervision.
This attorney will work closely with senior partners on high‑stakes matters, handling the substantive work that drives case strategy. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting deep factual and legal analysis on complex litigation matters
- Drafting dispositive and other substantive motions, briefs, and memoranda at a high level
- Preparing thorough, strategic deposition outlines and background materials for depositions
- Managing extensive discovery, including drafting requests, responses, and objections
- Analyzing large volumes of records and discovery materials with exceptional attention to detail
- Delivering work product that is partner‑ready, with little to no markup required
This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys rigorous legal work and prefers to focus on research, writing, and case development rather than courtroom appearances.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school; law review preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant litigation experience
- Strong legal research and writing background; law review or similar intensive writing experience is highly valued
- Experience in insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, or complex plaintiff‑side litigation is a strong fit
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to independently manage complex assignments
- Ability to produce consistently high‑quality written work on tight timelines
Benefits
- There is no expectation of business development.
- There is no billable hour requirement.
- The role offers a hybrid, highly flexible work arrangement, with an emphasis on output and quality rather than fixed schedules or constant in‑office presence.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience and will include bonuses for favorably resolved cases.
