Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Simphony EMC Application Developer to support and enhance enterprise retail systems within a convenience store and travel plaza environment. This role focuses on developing, configuring, and supporting Simphony EMC across high‑volume, multi‑store operations, including store POS, item and price management, promotions, and integrations with fuel, logistics, and back‑office platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and support Oracle Simphony EMC applications for convenience and travel plaza retail operations
- Support store‑level and enterprise functionality including item setup, price books, promotions, tax rules, tender configuration, and transaction processing
- Build and maintain integrations between Simphony EMC and fuel systems, back‑office, merchandising, inventory, loyalty, and financial platforms
- Collaborate with retail operations, merchandising, pricing, and fuel teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Support high‑availability, 24×7 retail environments where uptime and transaction accuracy are critical
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting store operations, forecourt transactions, and enterprise reporting
- Participate in system upgrades, patches, performance tuning, and release deployments
- Assist with store onboarding, configuration rollouts, and operational readiness for new locations or travel plazas
- Partner with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless data flow across POS, fuel, logistics, and inventory systems
- Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration guides, and operational runbooks
- Contribute to modernization initiatives, automation, and process improvements across the retail technology stack
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in retail application development or support, preferably in convenience, fuel, or travel plaza environments
- Hands‑on experience with Oracle Simphony EMC (configuration, customization, or development)
- Strong understanding of convenience store and travel plaza retail operations, including POS, pricing, promotions, and item lifecycle management
- Experience supporting high‑transaction, distributed store environments
- Experience building and supporting system integrations (APIs, web services, batch interfaces, messaging)
- Proficiency in Java and related enterprise technologies commonly used in Oracle Retail environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to support mission‑critical retail systems
- Ability to work effectively with business, operations, and technical stakeholders
