Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a Texas‑based, full‑service law firm seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to join its Dallas office. This full‑time, direct hire role supports a fast‑paced bankruptcy practice. The position is fully onsite for the first 90 days, with the flexibility to work one remote day per week thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters
- Assist with new and ongoing bankruptcy cases, including use of BestCase software
- Prepare, draft, and revise pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Handle ECF filings, PACER, and bankruptcy court filings; ensure compliance with all deadlines and procedures
- Support debtor, creditor, and trustee matters, including adversary proceedings and related state and federal litigation
- Assist attorneys with preparation of fee statements and fee applications, including monthly and interim billing
- Prepare and format Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities (including BestAuthority)
- Organize, review, and maintain bankruptcy files and documentation in NetDocuments
- Coordinate hearings, depositions, meetings, and court appearances; communicate with courts, court reporters, and opposing counsel
- Provide administrative support including phone coverage, scheduling, travel arrangements, and reimbursement submissions
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Bankruptcy Legal Assistant, with hands-on experience supporting Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 matters (required)
- Strong understanding of bankruptcy procedures, court rules, and filing requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and legal billing software (Aderant preferred)
- Experience with e-filing in bankruptcy, state, and federal courts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
