Work Strategy Consultant (Job Architect)
Location: Saint Paul, MN (Onsite 3+ days/week)
Pay Rate: $60-$90/hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Contract (18 months to start, potential extension)
About the Role
Beacon Hill is partnering with a leading organization in Saint Paul, MN to identify a Workforce Strategy Consultant for a high-impact AI transformation initiative. Reporting directly to the VP of HR, this role will assess AI’s impact on work, redesign jobs and workflows, and guide upskilling and workforce transitions in a scalable, repeatable way.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role operating in a greenfield environment and requires onsite presence at least three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess how AI and automation impact roles, tasks, skills, and capacity
- Translate AI initiatives into clear workforce implications and action plans
- Lead job and workflow redesign efforts as work evolves
- Support creation and evolution of roles aligned to AI-enabled work
- Partner with HR, Talent, and Learning teams on skills, upskilling, and redeployment strategies
- Develop tools, templates, and playbooks for scalable workforce planning
- Build workforce scenarios and use data to support decision-making
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders navigating workforce change
Required Qualifications
- Must have 8+ years of workforce planning experience within workforce transformation, organizational design, management consulting, or HR strategy
- Proven ability to translate complex workforce analysis into actionable outcomes
- Experience supporting digital, automation, or AI-enabled transformations
- Strong capability to build frameworks, tools, and processes from the ground up
