Job Description:
Our client, a water technology company focused on sustainability located in Houston’s energy corridor, is looking for a Document Controller to maintain accurate document control records, ensuring completeness and accuracy of project documentation, and managing the intake/distribution/archiving lifecycle of numbered documentation using company data control applications. The position supports multiple departments and external parties (clients/suppliers) and will help ensure clean, reliable data for high-visibility project work.This is a fully onsite, 6 month contract to hire within regular business hours. They are flexible with start and end times as long as they fall between 7AM-6PM and candidates can work a 40 hour work week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Compile and maintain control records and related files to release drawings and documents to manufacturing, subcontractors, and internal departments
- Examine documents (drawings, change orders, specifications) to verify completeness and accuracy
- Partner with document originators / engineering liaisons to resolve discrepancies and ensure quality
- Post changes to computerized or manual control records; release documents and notify affected departments
- Maintain related files; support document reproduction requests and may operate reproduction equipment
- Maintain accurate databases and execute transactions, recording origination and lifecycle history of numbered documentation
- Set up and maintain project master document registers in prescribed software
- Manage and record throughput of project documentation from internal departments, clients, and suppliers
- Organize documentation for hard copies/CDs and own document archiving processes
- Perform clerical work; screen mail and compose correspondence as needed
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Administrative / Document Control experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word + Excel)
- Comfortable learning/using document control systems (they are moving to Wrench)
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills (supports multiple leaders and teams)
- Ability to maintain accuracy and data integrity under changing priorities
