Beacon Hill is seeking an experienced Temporary Attorney for a well-established defense firm in Center City Philadelphia. This position will support the firm’s medical malpractice and wrongful death practice and is ideal for an attorney who is comfortable handling depositions, court appearances, and day-to-day litigation responsibilities with minimal supervision.
This is a fully onsite position requiring attendance in the Center City Philadelphia office five days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Take and defend fact witness, treating physician, expert, and party depositions
- Handle routine court appearances, status conferences, case management conferences, and hearings
- Manage medical malpractice and wrongful death matters through various stages of litigation
- Review medical records and case materials to prepare for depositions and hearings
- Draft motions, discovery responses, and other litigation-related documents as needed
- Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on case strategy and case management
- Communicate effectively with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Maintain accurate case documentation and meet all litigation deadlines
Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania bar admission required
- Prior experience handling medical malpractice defense and/or wrongful death litigation matters
- Demonstrated experience taking and defending depositions
- Experience appearing independently at routine hearings and court conferences
- Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania civil litigation procedures
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
