Legal Assistant – Litigation
Boston, MA | Full-Time | 1+ Year Litigation Experience Required
A Boston-based law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to support attorneys in an active litigation practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with prior law firm experience who is comfortable managing court filings, deadlines, and day-to-day litigation support.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys
- Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence
- Handle various court filings, including e-filing
- Maintain client files and litigation documents (electronic and hard copy)
- Manage calendars, court deadlines, hearings, and meetings
- Assist with discovery, document production, and trial preparation
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel as needed
- Support time entry, billing, and expense reporting
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience as a Legal Assistant in litigation
- Prior law firm experience required
- Familiarity with state and federal court procedures and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook; document management experience a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and proofreading skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience with Massachusetts court e-filing systems
- Exposure to civil or commercial litigation
