A Florida law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of commercial litigation experience, strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures, and exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence in state and federal courts
- Manage electronic court filings (e‑filing/e‑service), monitor dockets, and track critical deadlines
- Assist attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
- Draft and organize discovery requests and responses, exhibits, and document productions
- Maintain attorney calendars, schedule hearings and litigation events, and provide proactive deadline reminders
- Open, maintain, and organize physical and electronic client and case files
- Assist with trial preparation, including binders, exhibits, witness materials, and filings
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third‑party vendors
- Conduct conflict checks and support general administrative tasks such as time entry, billing support, and document management
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of litigation legal assistant or legal support experience in a Florida law firm
- Strong working knowledge of Florida and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and court practices
- Proficiency with court e‑filing systems and document management platforms
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline‑driven environment
- Familiarity with trial and courtroom procedures
