Assistant Property Manager – Affordable Housing
Roanoke, VA (Onsite)
$21/hour

We’re looking for a detail‑oriented, service‑driven Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of an affordable housing community in Roanoke. This role partners closely with the Community Manager to keep operations running smoothly, support residents, and ensure compliance with affordable housing requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Support leasing, marketing, resident recertifications, and administrative operations
  • Assist with rent collection, A/R and A/P, and delinquency tracking
  • Serve as a point of contact for residents and address concerns professionally
  • Help coordinate resident engagement and retention initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records and support compliance with HUD, LIHTC, HDC, HCR, and Project‑Based Section 8 programs
  • Partner with maintenance to ensure timely, high‑quality property upkeep
  • Assist with reporting and tracking community performance

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of property management experience (affordable housing preferred)
  • Working knowledge of affordable housing programs and compliance
  • Experience with property management software (RealPage, OneSite, JD Edwards, or similar)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive
  • Professional, discreet, and team‑oriented with a resident‑first mindset
