Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client, a growing logistics company located in Rocky Mount, NC, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. While working as the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller and be responsible for duties including:

• Processing high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
• Matching invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Reviewing invoices for proper approvals, coding, and compliance with company policies
• Managing vendor relationships and responding to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Preparing weekly check runs, ACH payments, and other electronic payments
• Reconciling vendor statements and researching discrepancies
• Assisting with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
• Maintaining organized and accurate accounts payable records
• Supporting process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency within the AP function

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience
• Experience processing invoices in a high-volume environment
• Strong understanding of AP processes, invoice matching, and vendor management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience working within an ERP or accounting software system
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience within logistics, transportation, distribution, manufacturing, or a similar industry is a plus
