Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager
Position Overview
A growing organization is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to support the finance function during a period of strategic growth and organizational transition. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will play a key part in financial reporting, close activities, process improvement initiatives, and special projects. Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data.
- Support executive leadership with financial analysis, reporting packages, cash flow reporting, and ad hoc projects.
- Assist with financial due diligence requests, data gathering, and preparation of schedules for potential financing, audit, or transaction-related activities.
- Analyze operating results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial performance.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other key accounting areas.
- Partner with leadership to improve accounting processes, reporting capabilities, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, tax advisors, and other third-party stakeholders.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
- Support ERP optimization, data cleanup initiatives, system conversions, or process documentation projects.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for board, investor, lender, or ownership reporting as needed.
- Review financial records to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist with special projects related to operational efficiency, organizational restructuring, and strategic initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff and cross-functional teams as needed.
- Participate in projects involving working capital management, cash flow forecasting, and KPI reporting.
- Help develop scalable accounting processes and documentation to support future growth and transaction readiness.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA license strongly preferred.
- Experience in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting practices.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
- Background in public accounting or audit.
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments.
- Experience improving processes, implementing controls, or leading system enhancements.
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with executive leadership.
