Brickell law firm has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Medical Malpractice Defense Paralegal. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of medical malpractice defense experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys throughout all phases of medical malpractice litigation
  • Manage and maintain case files from inception through trial
  • Review, organize, and summarize medical records
  • Prepare medical chronologies, deposition summaries, and case summaries
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, notices, and correspondence
  • Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, expert witness meetings, and trial preparation
  • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, healthcare providers, and opposing counsel
  • Monitor litigation deadlines and maintain attorney calendars
  • Assist with trial exhibits, witness files, and courtroom preparation
  • Perform electronic court filings in Florida state and federal courts
  • Support attorneys with additional litigation-related responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent medical malpractice defense paralegal experience
  • Strong knowledge of Florida state court procedures, litigation deadlines, and e-filing requirements
  • Experience reviewing and organizing extensive medical records
  • Ability to prepare medical chronologies and deposition summaries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and litigation document management systems
  • Trial experience is preferred
