Responsibilities:
- Develop, consolidate, and validate test hardware, fixture, and instrumentation requirements with engineering, laboratory, and program stakeholders.
- Review and approve engineering models and drawings to ensure configuration compliance, manufacturability, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the fabrication, assembly, and installation of test articles, fixtures, and supporting hardware.
- Create, maintain, and execute integrated manufacturing plans, build schedules, and detailed work instructions.
- Source fabrication and assembly services from internal and external suppliers and support make-versus-buy decisions.
- Procure materials, components, and test hardware while tracking procurement activities through final delivery.
- Coordinate with suppliers, fabrication teams, technicians, and engineering groups to ensure successful build execution.
- Resolve manufacturing and assembly issues during production and installation while ensuring adherence to quality and technical requirements.
- Provide hands-on support for laboratory builds, hardware integration, instrumentation installation, and test readiness activities.
- Support environmental and performance testing programs by delivering ready-for-test configurations and ensuring compliance with program objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, engineering design, production planning, or related engineering disciplines.
- Experience supporting product testing, prototype development, laboratory testing, or flight/test article environments.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as Siemens NX, CATIA, or comparable 3D design and modeling software.
- Experience developing manufacturing plans, work instructions, Statements of Work (SOWs), and production documentation.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier coordination, material sourcing, and manufacturing execution systems.
- Experience with fabrication and assembly processes including machining, CNC operations, tooling, inspection, electrical fabrication, or additive manufacturing.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management systems, configuration control, DFMA methodologies, quality assurance processes, and basic structural or stress analysis principles.
