Overview
Our client is seeking a RHEL Systems Administrator to join a centralized infrastructure team supporting the Oncology organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level Linux professional who enjoys working directly with end users, supporting mission-critical environments, and taking ownership of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
The team operates with a hands-off management style and values individuals who can work independently, solve problems proactively, and contribute to a collaborative, positive team culture.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments
- Perform Linux system maintenance, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting
- Manage software repositories and repository configurations
- Support and maintain Red Hat Satellite deployments
- Assist with system automation and configuration management using Ansible
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity within Linux environments
- Support NFS and SMB file share environments
- Utilize NMTUI and NMCLI for network management and configuration
- Monitor system health and resolve operational issues
- Provide direct support to end users and internal customers
- Participate in evaluating and benchmarking technologies to determine the best solutions for the environment
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Linux Systems Administration experience
- Strong experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Experience with Linux patching, upgrades, and system maintenance
- Knowledge of repository management
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite
- Familiarity with Ansible or other automation tools
- Experience with user management and permissions administration
- Working knowledge of networking concepts and Linux network configuration
- Experience supporting NFS and SMB file shares
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience supporting High Performance Computing (HPC) environments
- Experience with parallel file systems
- Additional Linux infrastructure or enterprise systems administration experience
