Accounting Manager
Accounting Managers, this is a great temporary opportunity for someone who enjoys leading a team, staying close to the details, and helping a busy accounting department stay on track. Our client, located in the Southwest Portland metro area, is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager who can step in quickly, bring steady leadership, and support a capable team during a busy season.
This is a strong fit for someone who is approachable, hands-on, and confident without needing to overcomplicate the work. You will be joining a professional, down-to-earth environment where the team values follow-through, clear communication, and someone who can keep things moving calmly and effectively.
As the Accounting Manager, you would be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting a small team of accounting professionals
- Helping guide the month-end close process
- Reviewing work and helping keep close timelines on track
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations
- Supporting financial reporting and month-end reporting needs
- Partnering with leadership and other departments as needed
- Helping answer questions and remove roadblocks for the team
- Jumping into accounting details when needed
- Supporting various ad hoc projects and related accounting work
This is an in-office opportunity to start, with potential for a hybrid schedule after the initial training period. The schedule is standard business hours with some flexibility.
To be considered for this specific opportunity, you would ideally have:
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Month-end close experience
- BA/BS in Accounting or a related field
- Strong Excel skills
- ERP system experience
