A business law firm in Orlando is seeking a Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation professional who enjoys taking ownership of complex matters, serving as a resource to junior team members, and working closely with attorneys on sophisticated commercial and business disputes.
The ideal candidate will bring substantial commercial litigation experience, forward thinking mindset, and a proactive approach to case management. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of commercial and business law matters while providing mentorship and guidance to less experienced paralegals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support all phases of commercial litigation from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, notices, and other legal documents.
- Coordinate and oversee complex discovery, including document review, production, and organization.
- Conduct legal and factual research, analyze records, and prepare case summaries, chronologies, and reports.
- Prepare deposition materials, witness files, exhibit binders, and trial notebooks.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Track litigation deadlines and ensure compliance with state and federal court rules.
- Maintain and organize case files and litigation databases.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior paralegals, assisting with training, workflow management, and best practices.
- Collaborate with attorneys and leadership to improve support processes and promote team development.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of commercial litigation paralegal experience in a law firm.
- Paralegal certificate and/or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of Florida state and federal court procedures.
- Experience handling complex litigation matters
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems, e-discovery platforms, and legal research tools.
- Experience in White collar defense is a plus, but not required.
