Senior Accountant
Are you a Senior Accountant who enjoys digging into the details, solving accounting problems, and seeing a project through to completion? We are partnering with a growing company in the Portland market that needs an experienced accountant for a temporary, ongoing engagement. This is an opportunity to step into meaningful work, take ownership of an important reconciliation project, and partner directly with a supportive, down-to-earth accounting leader.
As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Performing detailed account reconciliations
- Matching transactions and researching discrepancies
- Identifying missing entries, reversals, and reconciling items
- Using Excel to organize and analyze accounting data
- Researching current and historical transaction activity
- Communicating with accounting contacts to resolve outstanding issues
- Assisting with additional accounting projects as needed
- This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable staying hands-on with reconciliation-heavy work. You will have the autonomy to manage the day-to-day project while partnering with an approachable manager who values clear communication and gives people room to get the job done.
To be considered for this Senior Accountant opportunity, you will need:
- 3+ years of hands-on general accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Strong understanding of transaction flow and account reconciliations
- Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, filtering, and sorting
- Ability to independently research and resolve accounting discrepancies
