Firewall Network Engineer

Beacon Hill is seeking a Firewall Network Engineer III to join a Network Administration team in Charlotte, NC. This engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting Palo Alto firewall environments, developing and maintaining security policies, processing service requests, and partnering with internal customers to ensure secure network access.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise Palo Alto firewall environments
• Design, implement, and maintain firewall security policies and rule sets
• Process firewall-related service requests and security changes
• Collaborate with internal customers to gather requirements and implement secure access solutions
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, firewall, and security-related issues
• Analyze network traffic and security events to identify and resolve problems
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and best practices
• Document changes, procedures, and technical configurations
• Participate in operational support activities and ongoing network security initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of hands-on Palo Alto Firewall administration experience
• Strong understanding of firewall technologies and network security concepts
• Experience building and maintaining security policies and firewall rules
• Solid networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and VPN technologies
• Experience troubleshooting complex network and security issues
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Outlook
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
