Tax Manager
About the Opportunity
A growing, multi-entity organization is seeking a Tax Manager to join its finance leadership team. This is a high-impact role with significant visibility and the opportunity to shape the future tax function of the company.
The Tax Manager will oversee a broad range of corporate tax responsibilities while serving as the organization’s primary subject matter expert for sales and indirect tax matters. This position offers a clear growth path into senior tax leadership and will play a key role in expanding internal tax capabilities and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage federal, state, and local income tax compliance and reporting activities
- Oversee tax planning initiatives and support strategic business decisions
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for sales and use tax, indirect tax, and related compliance matters
- Partner with finance, accounting, and operational teams to address tax implications of business activities
- Coordinate with external advisors and service providers as needed
- Review tax filings, tax provisions, and supporting documentation
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess organizational impact
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and overall tax function efficiency
- Support audits and inquiries from taxing authorities
Desired Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA, MST, or similar credential preferred
- 6+ years of progressive corporate tax experience within a public accounting or large company environment
- Strong understanding of federal and state corporate taxation
- Experience with sales and use tax, indirect tax, or multi-state tax compliance required
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance on complex tax matters
- Strong communication and cross-functional partnership skills
