Senior Software Development Engineer (Java / Cloud) (Remote)

We’re seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to help design, build, and enhance enterprise applications that support critical business operations. This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, offering the opportunity to influence application strategy, mentor team members, and drive modernization initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and support APIs and integration services utilizing REST, SOAP, and MQ technologies.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in software development.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring activities.
• Support cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
• Help drive long-term application strategy, performance improvements, and future enhancements.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience developing applications with Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Experience building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, and messaging technologies.
• Background delivering enterprise-scale software solutions in complex environments.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to guide technical direction while remaining hands-on.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Angular or React.
• Azure OpenShift or container-based cloud environments.
• CI/CD and DevOps experience with tools such as Jenkins and Git.
• Kafka, Spring Batch, and other enterprise integration technologies.
• Experience working in healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated environments.
• Exposure to large-scale legacy application environments and modernization efforts.
