Property Services and Asset Management Firm located in Midtown East, Manhattan is seeking to hire a Temp to Perm Assistant Project Manager to support daily construction operations for the New York Portfolio. This position will start ASAP, require 5 days in office. Hours 8:30am-5/5:30pm, availability for OT as needed. The temp duration is approximately 3 months with potential to extend or convert. Pay: 80K-120K perm base depending on experience, temp rate in line. Medical, dental and vision (100% paid), 0-2 years 15 days PTO ; 2-5 years 20 days PTO; 5+ years 25 days PTO plus holidays, commuter benefits.
This role will report to the Project Manager and support the planning, execution, and closeout of commercial real estate and construction projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Update project schedules, budgets, task completion tracking, and upcoming milestone reporting
* Prepare contracts and change orders, monitor project expenses, and identify budget variances
* Schedule recurring project meetings, prepare agendas, and distribute meeting notes and action items
* Assist with task assignments and the distribution of project materials to stakeholders
* Provide weekly and monthly project status updates
* Monitor project deliverables to ensure alignment with project scope, timelines, and established checklists
* Document and process requested scope changes for review and approval
* Support project closeout activities by confirming all final project requirements have been completed
* Organize and maintain project records, including contracts, drawings, and correspondence
* Review vendor payments, lien waivers, and project closeout documentation
* Coordinate lessons learned meetings to document project successes and identify opportunities for improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
* 2+ years of project management experience within commercial real estate and construction
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and manage contract requirements and legal provisions
* Ability to evaluate financial tradeoffs and make informed decisions in situations involving incomplete data and ambiguity
* Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast paced environment
* Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when issues should be escalated
* Strong problem solving skills with the confidence to take initiative and make decisions when necessary
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
