Our client, an investment management firm with a focus on sustainability, is seeking a Temp Legal Executive Assistant for their NYC office. The estimated temp duration is one month with potential to extend. The hours are 9am-6pm and this role is hybrid with Tuesday – Thursday in the office with Mondays/Fridays remote. Pay is $55-$73/hour depending on experience.
This role is ideal for someone with prior experience supporting legal executives – such as a General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or senior in-house attorneys – who understands the pace and confidentiality demands of a legal function embedded in a fast-moving investment platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage complex, frequently shifting calendars for one or more Legal executives, prioritizing competing demands and anticipating scheduling conflicts before they arise
- Coordinate and prepare materials for board meetings, board committee meetings, and outside counsel calls
- Handle highly confidential legal, personnel, and corporate information with sound judgment and discretion
- Arrange domestic and international travel, and process related expense reports
- Draft, proofread, and format correspondence, memos, and legal department communications
- Support contract routing, signature workflows, and document management in coordination with the legal operations team
- Serve as a liaison between the Legal team and internal stakeholders (Finance, IR, HR, Executive Office) as well as outside counsel and external parties
- Assist with legal department budgeting and budget reporting, invoice processing, and vendor coordination
- Help plan legal team offsites, trainings, and department events
- Participate in the Administration team meetings and trainings, and provide backup coverage for other executive assistants as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant, with at least 2+ years supporting legal executives (General Counsel, law firm partners, or senior in-house counsel)
- Prior experience at a law firm, corporate legal department, or financial/investment firm strongly preferred
- Exceptional discretion and judgment handling privileged and confidential information
- Strong written communication skills and impeccable attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; familiarity with contract management or e‑signature platforms (e.g., Docusign) a plus
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
