Contract Part-Time Compensation Consultant
Location: Maple Grove, MN
Work Arrangement: Hybrid | 2 days onsite in Maple Grove, MN and 3 days remote
Schedule: Part-Time | 20 hours per week initially, with potential to increase to 30 hours per week in 2027
Employment Type: 12-Month Contract with potential for extension
Compensation: $60-$75/hour, depending on previous experience
About the Opportunity
Beacon Hill’s client is seeking an experienced Contract Part-Time Compensation Consultant to support compensation programs, market analysis, and strategic pay initiatives. This role will partner closely with HR and business leaders to provide data-driven compensation recommendations, develop analytical tools, and help ensure compensation practices remain competitive and aligned with organizational goals.
This position is ideal for a compensation professional who enjoys working with data, conducting market research, and influencing compensation strategy in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Research market compensation data and conduct job evaluations to determine competitive pay ranges and benchmark positions against industry standards.
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of salary structures, job frameworks, and compensation programs.
- Create and manage compensation models that evaluate different pay scenarios and assess financial impacts on budgets.
- Support annual compensation review processes by assisting with merit increase planning, salary budgeting, and compensation planning resources.
- Calculate and analyze bonus and incentive programs to ensure accuracy and alignment with compensation objectives.
- Develop reporting tools, dashboards, templates, and compensation-related analytics to support leadership decision-making.
- Review and audit HRIS and compensation data to maintain data integrity and ensure reliable reporting.
- Assist with compensation system administration, including workflow improvements, configuration updates, and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition teams, and organizational leaders to provide compensation guidance and recommendations.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance compensation reporting, efficiency, and overall program effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Previous compensation analysis, compensation consulting, or total rewards experience.
- Strong understanding of market pricing, salary benchmarking, job evaluation, and compensation program administration.
- Experience developing compensation models, reports, and analytical tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and compensation management systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex compensation data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
