Technical Services Representative

Beacon Hill Life Sciences is seeking a Technical Service Representative to provide hands-on technical support for coating products within a manufacturing environment. This position will work closely with customers and internal technical teams to monitor product performance, troubleshoot application issues, support trials, and identify opportunities to improve quality and processing.

The ideal candidate has experience with coatings, paints, surface finishes, or related chemical products and is comfortable working directly within a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for coating products and their application in a manufacturing setting.
• Monitor product performance and identify quality or processing trends.
• Troubleshoot issues involving color, appearance, flow, finish quality, and overall coating performance.
• Assist with appropriate product or process adjustments when performance issues occur.
• Perform routine quality testing and document results.
• Investigate technical issues and help identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Support product trials, sample evaluations, and introduction of new or modified coating products.
• Work with internal technical teams on product and process optimization.
• Collect, analyze, and communicate quality and performance data.
• Maintain accurate technical, project, and inventory documentation.
• Prepare reports and summaries related to customer projects, quality issues, and product performance.
• Coordinate technical activities with customers and internal teams.
• Assist with customer complaints and product-quality investigations.
• Support continuous-improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, and product performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline or relevant industry experience.
• Previous experience with coatings, paints, chemicals, or related products preferred.
• Experience providing technical support in a manufacturing or customer-facing environment is beneficial.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable performing basic product testing and interpreting technical data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and technical documentation.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to effectively interact with customers, production personnel, and technical teams.
• Experience with multi-component coating systems is beneficial.
• Ability to safely work around chemical products and wear required PPE, including respiratory protection when applicable.
