About the Opportunity
Beacon Hill’s client is seeking an experienced Program Planning & Scheduling Analyst to support complex programs through detailed schedule development, maintenance, analysis, and reporting.
This individual will partner closely with program leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to build and maintain comprehensive program schedules, monitor performance against established plans, identify scheduling risks, and provide meaningful analysis to support business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience working with complex project or program schedules, and the ability to operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and manage Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for assigned programs.
- Maintain schedules that accurately reflect contractual commitments, program goals, milestones, deliverables, and established scheduling standards.
- Build and oversee detailed schedules encompassing both contractual requirements and broader program activities.
- Evaluate program timelines through critical path, schedule variance, and schedule risk analysis.
- Proactively identify scheduling concerns, potential impacts, and opportunities, and communicate findings to program leadership.
- Update schedules as program or contractual requirements change while maintaining meaningful and realistic schedule baselines.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to gather scheduling information and accurately capture dependencies, key milestones, and deliverables.
- Consolidate and evaluate schedule information from multiple sources to produce clear and actionable insights.
- Develop schedule-related reporting and present findings to program stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Help promote effective schedule management practices while supporting applicable compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Approximately 5+ years of related professional experience.
- Background in one or more areas such as program or schedule management, industrial engineering, operations management, management consulting, data analytics, finance, or another quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrated experience building, managing, or evaluating complex project or program schedules.
- Proficiency with scheduling platforms and data-analysis tools.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including experience with PivotTables, lookup functions, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to collect information from multiple sources, evaluate data, and communicate meaningful findings.
- Experience developing schedule-related reporting and presenting information to senior-level stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Working knowledge of DCMA scheduling practices and associated compliance requirements.
- Understanding of Master/Subproject Integrated Master Schedule structures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently while also contributing successfully within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- PMP certification or another relevant project/program management credential.
- Experience performing Schedule Risk Assessments (SRA).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project Web Access (PWA) or comparable scheduling technology.
- Experience supporting Earned Value (EV) programs.
