A sophisticated intellectual property practice is seeking a patent attorney with a strong scientific background in chemistry or a related life science to join its patent prosecution team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney who wants substantive experience working with complex technologies and sophisticated clients.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 1+ years of substantive patent prosecution experience
- Ph.D. REQUIRED in chemistry, biochemistry, life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, or a related field
- J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- Active USPTO registration
- Strong technical, analytical, and writing skills
This position will involve patent drafting and prosecution, prior art and patentability analysis, inventor interaction, and portfolio-related work. Candidates should be intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and interested in developing significant responsibility as a patent practitioner.
