Senior Staff Accountant
Are you a hands-on Senior Staff Accountant who enjoys variety, ownership, and being the person a busy accounting team can count on? Our client in the greater Vancouver area needs an experienced accounting professional for a long-term consulting assignment where your work will matter from day one.
This is not a narrowly defined accounting role. You will have visibility across the accounting function, own important day-to-day responsibilities, and contribute at both the transactional and general ledger levels. If you enjoy solving problems, keeping the details accurate, and helping a team stay on track, this could be an excellent fit.
As the Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and posting journal entries
- Completing general ledger and account reconciliations
- Researching discrepancies and resolving accounting issues
- Supporting month-end and other accounting priorities
- Managing a significant portion of the accounts payable process
- Processing accounts receivable transactions
- Reconciling credit card activity and supporting documentation
- Preparing routine expense and accounting reports
- Maintaining complete and organized accounting records
- Assisting with additional accounting and administrative priorities as needed
To be considered, you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3+ years of hands-on, full-cycle accounting experience
- Strong accounts payable and accounts receivable experience
- Experience preparing journal entries and completing reconciliations
- Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas
- Experience working in an ERP or accounting system
- The ability to learn quickly, work independently, and shift between priorities
- A flexible, collaborative approach with strong communication skills
