A Beacon Hill client in the Philadelphia, PA area is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. This is a contract to hire opportunity offering $33-$37/hour, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have experience processing high-volume payroll, managing payroll compliance, and supporting employees with payroll related inquiries. This opportunity offers the potential for long term growth within a stable and collaborative organization. Previous payroll processing experience and knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations are prefered.
Position Summary:
* Process weekly, bi-weekly, and/or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
* Review and audit employee timekeeping records to ensure payroll accuracy
* Maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and deductions
* Process garnishments, benefits deductions, direct deposits, and wage attachments
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
* Reconcile payroll reports and payroll related accounting functions
* Prepare payroll reports and support year-end payroll activities
* Assist with payroll audits and maintain accurate payroll records and documentation

Technical Qualifications:
* 1+ years of payroll processing experience required
* Experience processing payroll for 50+ employees preferred
* Knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and payroll tax requirements
* Experience with payroll systems
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, VLOOKUPs, and Pivot Tables
* High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines
* Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
