Senior Network Engineer
Location: Greater Milwaukee Area, WI (Hybrid – Onsite/Remote)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and driven Senior Network Engineer to join a consulting-focused engineering team supporting a wide range of organizations in the Milwaukee metro area. This role involves delivering hands-on technical expertise to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable network environments. It includes both on-site client work and remote flexibility based on project needs.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect and deploy network solutions tailored to unique client environments
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for LAN/WAN, wireless, and security infrastructure
- Configure and support routing, switching, firewall, and access control technologies
- Deliver client-facing support across project life cycles: design, implementation, documentation
- Maintain accurate network documentation including topology diagrams and configuration details
- Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to align infrastructure with business goals
Technical Focus Areas (not all required):
- Network Security: Experience with firewalls and security appliances (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco)
- Switching/Routing: Familiarity with vendors like Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet
- Wireless: Hands-on knowledge of enterprise wireless systems and 802.11 standards
- Access Control: Exposure to NAC platforms like ClearPass or Cisco ISE
- Remote Access: VPN, SSL/IPSec tunneling, and Zero Trust access models
- Advanced Protocols: OSPF, BGP, and solid IP addressing/subnetting knowledge
- Storage Networking: Experience with iSCSI or similar technologies
- OS and Scripting: Comfort with Windows Server, Linux, and scripting for automation
- Industry Certifications: Network/security certs from Cisco, Fortinet, HPE/Aruba are a plus

- 7+ years of experience in network engineering, consulting, or infrastructure design
- Ability to operate independently in diverse IT environments
- Clear and effective communicator who can engage with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong organizational skills with a commitment to documenting work clearly and consistently
- Willingness to travel locally for client needs (primarily in Southeastern Wisconsin)
